The project would be completed at a cost of Rs 1.03 crore
JALANDHAR: Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary, along with Jalandhar Central MLA Rajinder Beri, on Thursday laid the foundation stone of the building of Government Senior Secondary School Chogitti. The building of the smart school would be constructed at a cost of Rs one crore and three lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Chaudhary said that the construction of the building was a long pending demand of the local people, which has now been fulfilled. “We had made a promise that our government would construct the new building of the school, which we have fulfilled now,” he said.
He stated that Punjab Government under the able leadership of Capt. Amarinder Singh is committed to development of infrastructure and providing quality education in schools. “We are focused on imparting education in English medium also. Due to our efforts, the enrolment in government schools has increased significantly and many students have left private schools to study in government ones,” he added.
MP Chaudhary further said that the Congress government is providing free education to all in schools and scholarships for higher education to students belonging to marginalized sections.
On this occasion, he also announced the development of three parks at a cost of Rs 1.50 crores. “The three parks would be developed with jogging tracks, equipment for exercise, swings for children, plants, etc and would be well maintained,” he said.
MLA Rajinder Beri said that Captain Amarinder Singh government is focused on all round development of the entire state and is providing ample grants. “Every ward of Jalandhar Central constituency is witnessing rapid development and the promises made to people are being fulfilled,” he stated.
Municipal Councillor Manmohan Singh Raju and Jaswinder Singh Billa were among those present on the occasion.
